AV O
Not a full Hasegawa though : An RAF -500 (K1) A little damage on the broken fin that must be repaired properly, and wing engines reverse on the way. AV O
"Desert Storm" Take off run : ZD951 is the same aircraft as the white one shown much above, in the sand painting applied for "Desert storm". But is a different model kit with the refueling probe and extended front gear added, and the moving stab modification. I'll try to post better pictures in day light conditions. Probing glances may have noticed that on the white one, the high speed ailerons are too short (not as long as they should be). This kind of thing that I had not noticed at first. They have been corrected on this one, Another notable thing about the Hasegawa RAF kit. The decals cannot be used as such on a -500. The details (doors, windows, roundels) have been oversized to figure out a three doors configuration in the space of four through out the fuselage. It works with a full size Tristar (-200) to fool the eye. Not anymore on the shorter -500. Like on the real one, the faded paint lets the white paint and blue writings show at places (nose, tail, fuselage side). Gimme Shelter
totally brilliant - love the extra surgery and attention to detail - particularly the RAF Tristar which is very similar to the posed 1/144 Tristar I posted here a while back in April time this year

AV O
Excellent stuff, but very sad where are the VC10's Any 1/200th VC10 anywhere ? I wish there were... What about Il-62, B-707, A340/330... Unfortunately, no Japanese Airline ever purchased them !
AV O
And at last, the DC-9 landed... Airborne : Approach, then flaps out : And finally reverses on : Edited November 16, 2017 by AV O
MikeW
Awesome surgery there - flaps, slats and thrust reversers. Impressive! Finally did get some 'flaps deployed' builds in my display case - but courtesy of the new Zvezda "Ultimate Kits", rather than outright talent. Cheers, Mike

Skodadriver
Thanks for reviving this thread which was posted some time before I joined Britmodeller and which I've never seen. I don't build in 1/200 (increasing age and deteriorating eyesight!) but these are beautiful models and the control surfaces and thrust reversers are amazing. AV O
Thank you for joining with this colorful whale. Waiting for the Pokemon to be completed. For those who follow : Here's an update : After some brainstorming, I finally managed (like I did on the B-747 and the RAF Tristar Tanker) to get the stab moving as you may notice on the pictures. As on this kit, both stabs are one piece together with the top of the fin, it did indeed need some delicate surgery . But doing so made it easier then to fit the bar code decal in this area. This B-727 is a different model than the one shown earlier above, though it almost sports the same livery and registration. The difference, barely noticeable is the Round European Flag at the top of the fin instead of the white code, meaning a later service date : Happy New Year. AV O
Following the 1/200 saga : A very small one, not Hasegawa though, but from FineMolds. Mitsubishi Regional Jet (MRJ) How tiny is it ? Compared to a B-787 engine : Next to a DC-8-73 and a B-767-300 on their way of completion : Edited March 5, 2019 by AV O
