SaintsPhil
Morning! Has anyone had success spraying the windsor and Newton artist varnishes? If so I assume it needs thinning, any suggestions what to thin it with? Thanks Phil

speedy
As above, and you can brush it and it comes out fine.
SaintsPhil
Thanks guys, I've been brushing up to now, but I find it a little awkward to get everywhere sometimes, especially using a big flat brush to avoid brush marks. I assume it cleans up ok with water as well? From the the airbrush that is!

offender
windsor and newton varnish is great stuff but its very susceptible to water if you wash the dust off your models under the tap like i do i have had the varnish come off and also go white and stay white i sent a email about this and this was the reply "The Galeria Matt Varnish is designed to be removable with an alkaline solution. And therefore it is possible if it is cleaned vigorously with water that some of it may be removed or if the water being used has a Ph of above 7. (it is alkaline) If you want to ensure that your finished work has optimum water resistance then we suggest you use the W&N Artist Matt varnish which is removable with white spirit not alkaline water." so if your using "galeria" version of the varnish you might have a problem if your using the "artist" version you should be ok thanks rob
