LanceR21
Another YU bird from me... a MiG-29 (ev. number 18109) in Yugoslavian colours. On this aircraft was flying Milenko Pavlović who was killed during the NATO attacks in 1999. He took off around noon (04.05.1999) in Batajnica and MiG was shot down by USAF F-16CJ. All electronics on the MiG was defective, including radar. Before the war, Yugoslavia had 16 MiG-29, but only 5 survived ( 18101,18102,18105,18108 and 18301 ) Now, back to the model... It's my first time working on this great Italeri kit. Fit is very good, I think I will not have major problems during assembly. Everything will be OOB, except the resin seat. It's much better than Italeri seat from the box. I'll try to do more accurate model. As I see it, the panels on the wings are not accurate, so I'll have to fill panel lines with glue and rescribe again... I plan to do all the rivets on the plane, but it all depends on inspiration and time! For just in case, I added weight in front of the aircraft... So, that's it for now! LanceR21
Thank you Paul! But I'm just an average modeller who is trying to improve skills on every single model. Today was a busy day, with Trumpeter riveter and needle... so much fun! More pictures soon! Cheers, Nenad

Yes, just checking the joints. Green is Humbrol 117... 70% of this MiG is done... I need to fix some rivets before primer paint and preshading. Painting for weekend! LanceR21
Yessss, MiG is painted, finally! I tried to simulate old SFRY flag on vertical wings and I'm satisfied with the result. Thanks for watching! Cheers, Nenad Edited August 23, 2011 by LanceR21
Navy Bird
Looking good, Nenad! Can you let us know which paints you used? I've heard that this is the most accurate kit to buy for a Fulcrum in 1:72 scale. I built up the Hasegawa version many years ago, but it definitely looks too small. How would you rate this kit from Italeri? Cheers, Bill

SaintsPhil
Great job on an interesting subject, I like a kit with a story. It never fails to impress me when people paint the cockpit in place, especially when you get results like that! Love the faded flag on the tail Phil
LanceR21
Thanks guys! Looking good, Nenad! Can you let us know which paints you used? I've heard that this is the most accurate kit to buy for a Fulcrum in 1:72 scale. I built up the Hasegawa version many years ago, but it definitely looks too small. How would you rate this kit from Italeri?Cheers, Bill Thank you. I used Humbrol 127 and a mix of Fulcrum Grey and Pale Green ( Model Master ). If you want to build 9-12 version, Italeri is not the best option, Airfix is the most accurate kit, but I can't find that kit for a long time. I never saw Hasegawa Fulcrum, so I can't compare with Italeri. How would I rate this kit from 1 to 10... well, if you want to build OOB kit, 8-9, but when you look at the drawings and see that you need to fix almost every single part on the model, 4-5 max... But that's just my opinion.
