James V
Hi guys, I wonder if you could please help me. I am building a Phantom for a commission build where the client wants a replica of XT899 but i am unsure of the overall blue colour used on the airframe. Can anyone advise my of the closest colour to the blue used? I would prefer acrylic if possible but can be enamel if needs be... Thank you in advance... Muzz
Hi James Pretty certain it's Roundel Blue, Xtracrylix are my usual brand but don't cover it, I found their Lufthansa Blue is a close match if you lighten it a tad. Tiger331
Yep....The colour used for the two RAFG specials was RAF Roundel Blue.................Not sure who does this colour now but Xtracolor used to have it in their enamel range and White Ensign might do it....Not sure about acrylic paint manufacturers (Lifecolor maybe ?) Harry Lime
The colour is indeed Roundel Blue, BS381c:110 in a satin finish. Xtracolor do it in an enamel, but if it's not in the Xtracrylix range, Humbrol 25 is an almost identical match and is available in acrylic. Harry Lime
Umm, one further point. In the title of your post, you say you're doing 92 Sqd's phantom. If so, that one was actually serialled XV408 as XT899 was the anniversary mount of 19 Sqd.
