Martlet MK III

I like that a lot.

There has been some controversy about the scheme you have chosen. Some say photographs show a definite demarcation which proves it was finished in a two colour scheme. Others say that what is observed is the effect of shadow. For my part I really cannot make my mind up, but what I can say is that the two colour scheme is both interesting and attractive.

Sorry, no Martlets on Malta, but there was a squadron on HMS Indomitable during the Pedestal convoy, so that would do. I forget which, but a quick Google should help.

Plus F4Fs on the USS Wasp during Operations Calendar and Bowery, but they never got really close.

"A" Flight of 806 Sq with Martlet IIs, including AM997. From "Squadrons of the FAA", not Google!

Nice model, BTW: picked up a cheap Quickboost F4F-3 non-folding wing at the weekend to do an ex-Greek Martlet of my own.
