Max Headroom
Trawling the web for interesting Spitfire pictures for the upcoming Spitfire Group Build I came across this series of shots of AA963 in the US http://spitfiresite.com/2009/03/aa963-in-t...our-photos.html Quite apart from the fact that it shows a machine with 4 x 20mm armament and the colour shot of it in Olive Drab/Neutral Gray/Medium Green scheme (did it have both at the same time?) are the small bulges where the outer 0.303 Brownings should be. Definitely there in the first shot, they appear to be in the last one too. I've not seen ones like these before (I think I have seen small circular ones though?). Any ideas? Dave Fleming
They appear in a small-ish batch of mk Vcs - I seem to recall Edgar's theory was that ethy were related to the gun heating mechanism

Work In Progress
Interesting pics, those, which I have not seen before, so thanks for putting them up. For the benefit of people who might go searching for this in months and years to come, it may be worth correcting the title thread to Spit Vc, rather than Vb. Bazza Gillingwater
This Vc AA963 has been a hobby of mine for a very long time. I've been trying to track its wartime movements for over 50 years. Got quite a bit of info on it and more pics if anyone is modelling it.
