Muzz Posted February 14, 2011 Author Share Posted February 14, 2011 I had a look earlier, from what I can work out (it's not that clear) if you pre order a kit you can get a second set of sprues, ie. a second kit, for only an extra £12 or so. Eduard have been working on this for about five years now, so if they're not the bee's knees, there's no justice in the universe. Their original plan was one set of core moldings for the basic fuselage, but late in the game they discovered (correctly) that the bis version has some significant differences, so they've said they're tooling a separate new fuselage for that one (hence its delay). Everything I've seen thus far indicates that they've done their homework though, so it should be a real cracker of a kit (fingers crossed all around please!). I'm going to need at least a dozen of them eventually, but many of the ones I want to do are the bis variant. I only hope they'll do as they originally said and do the PF and PFM as well, since I'll need a few of each of those. There seemed some confusion about what "overtrees" means. Some people seemed to think it was just weapons or something. What they're offering to pre-order takers is a complete second kit, with PE and express masks, but no decals, for $25 extra. That's a great deal, since you get ten different sets of markings in the subscriber limited edition kit, and apparently you can order as many as you want. I'm eagerly awaiting news from Aires or wherever as to what aftermarket goodies will be forthcoming. I'm picturing at least a resin/PE cockpit, maybe wheel well details, a MiG-21R conversion (PLEASE!!!!), and possibly some weapons. The clogs are already turning, I'm thinking I'll pre order one, buy the 'over trees' kit and then when the Bis version comes out someone else does the same and we swap 'over trees' kits, bingo an MF kit and a Bis for much cheapness! This kit is indeed stuffed with good stuff. The helmet was kind of "late bonus" which was revealed just few days ago. I need one or two of the strange shaped 800L belly tanks and a pair of S-24 rockets (with launch rails if possible)......
