Yep well spent the best part of 8 days up in them their hills waiting for them to come low level and typically from about 40 hrs i got 1 really grotty Hawk shot!

Real shame as i`ve rather get the F3`s low level but with time running out it looks like a trip to Leuchars.

Quite interesting point raised there- after the positively faced negativity of Jonners build, is it that we just can't be arsed to buy and build the Hobbyshite FIn?

That is certainly the case for me

Well for me it's cost & build quality,at least with the Italeri kit,the thing's you need to do in order to make an accurate kit are less than those needed for the H/B one,as to the cost, then what I'd save in buying the Italeri kit would mean I could by a n other kit or an update set, aftermarket seats, fin correction ect.

Please do tell why - maybe some comparison shots would help explain your choice - as I was thinking of getting the Italeri offering.

Peter

Me thinks he is taking the Michael ("well I hope he is")

yep put me down for 2 as well I want a F3, and was hoping to get hold of a old Airfix F3 but now I can have the best one I feel out there.

With these 2011 re-issues of previously rarely seen kits (Italeri F3, the Airfix Seafire 46/47 (With a decent decal sheet this time?) and F2A/ F6 Lightning) there may be a spot of panic dumping of these kits on the usual internet auction sites.

I Hope the F3 kit can be kept to a reasonable (£20 ish?) price.

it always best to wait a little if you can, if you feel the kit is going to be about for a while, ie rather than dive in and buy canberra's I waited, and now I have a fistful at half the RRP price.

doesn't alway work, I missed the Eduard F1a kit, lack of funds, and I should have bought sooner, but I bought a Sea Vixen when released and another at MK for less than £30 quid. which seems to be the way to go, ie grab one, and then see how the market goes, I'm not buying any more sea vixens for now, I'm pretty sure the price will fall and would like another couple but I have two just in case i'm wrong.

now saving like mad for Airfix 1/48 Canberra PR9's the B1's dropped to £14.99 and so did the B-57, a month to six weeks later the B2 are being flogged at £14.99 so I presume the PR9 are next. I hope there clearing stock for need of space, over need for funds, ie this is what the old mob did just before going pop, but thankfully I don't think this is the case this time

We will see, but my stash has room for at least two F3, PR9's and F6 Lightning. (i'm sure Airfix will repop the F1a next anyway ;) ) We will see.

£24.99 or less:

Just don't buy them all up before I get one.

In fact both kits have to be corrected in some parts and as a modeller I say few parts.

HB has fine engraved details around and Italeri is from another Age.

Both kits are beneficiated by the AM resins/PE of today.

I hope Aires releases the IDS/F cockpits soon.

But kit by kit alone HB is much more complete than the Italeri one and will costs more.

Good Luck.

Has anybody see if there are any dates when these will be in the shops as I'm only planning on buying a couple of these and a couple of lightnings this year

Sooty

I am pretty sure they are due at the end of the month

Cheers
