airbus320
Hi all, after an epic 6 month build (including a 3 month hiatus spent in Indonesia) I have finally managed to finish something! Kit is the Hobbycraft 'Korean War' boxing enhanced with airwaves wingfold, cockpit set and white metal u/c, prob blades and arrestor hook. Decals were cobbled together from Aeromaster and the spares box. Canopy is by Squadron. It represents VR930, which is the current RNHF Sea Fury as she appeared with 801 Squadron aboard HMS Glory in 1953. Apologies for the poor quality of the pictures - A) the light in my house is terrible (darned energy saving bulbs!) and I am a rubbish photographer at the best of times... There are a number of faults, one of which is a paint repair just aft of the cockpit on the right hand side (you can see where the roundel is slightly straightened), it is almost unnoticeable but I know for a fact it will eat away at me until one day I sand it back and respray it!! Hope you enjoy looking at my Sea Fury as much as I enjoyed building her. Chris
Murdo
Looks like a perfect job to me!
Col.
Nice work Chris. Really cannot see the paint repair even though you describe where it is. The Hobbycraft isn't exactly state-of-the-art but you've done a lovely job with it.
Rob C
I would worry about that roundel. You'd be repainting a perfectly good build! Its come out very well.

Martian
I'd leave well alone; she looks FAB just as she is. Martin
Shar2
You gotta love the Sea Fury and you've done a wonderful job with this one. P.S. I'd leave it as is, you really can't tell you ever had a problem.
Work In Progress
Lovely job. Shows the Hobbycraft kit still makes the basis of a good model. I urge you to leave the paint alone - I bet you will get more pleasure from putting the rectification effort into your next model instead.

davidelvy
Very nice. Having built one myself I am a fan of the Hobbycraft Sea Fury. It is basic, but easy to build and the end result looks good.
Enzo the Magnificent
There are a number of faults, one of which is a paint repair just aft of the cockpit on the right hand side (you can see where the roundel is slightly straightened) Where? Where? I can't see owt. I think you're imagining it. It's a lovely model and I think you should be very pleased with it.

airbus320
Thank you all for the kind comments - just to clarify I was only going to strip and repaint the area affected by the glue smear, not the entire aeroplane. Fortunately I have been distracted by my Lancaster build for the GB! Chris
cjhm
Wonderful model, great effort. One of my favourite planes, I had the good fortune to be allowed by a kind staff member to crawl around\over one taking pics at Yeovilton museum 20 odd years ago (before health and safety and all that ... )
