Col.
Finished this one a wee while ago but only now got photos taken. Built to represent PS853 as she now is with Rolls Royce.
Col.
Here she is with the other kit I built at the same time as a standard service machine; The Work in Progress thread is here and the RFI thread for PS934 here. Daniel
Looks good Col, I like this kit a lot, and will probably build one for the OOB GB? Where did you get the prop decals from? Dan
daz greenwood
That's very nice Col. Although I'm a hardened Hurricane fan I do like the Mk XIX Spitfire.
Col.
Cheers lads. Dan, couldn't find any decals for either props so hand-painted everything on both, something lacking from the otherwise excellent Freightdog sheet I used for PS934. Otherwise the kit is ideal for an OOB project. Daz, have to say I always prefered the tougher look of the Hurricane as well but these ones have let the more gentle and feminine curves of the Spitfire grow on me. Col.
Cheers for the kind comments lads. Used a new fine brush for the small details on props and beside the canopy with a slightly blunt scalpel blade to tidy up any edges. A breath inhaled then half exhale to steady the hand and one stroke at a time - same technique as used for accurate shooting - had to do a couple passes for the yellow then coat with some Klear as it seems PS853 has decals on the prop for those markings.
