Arie Vos
Hi All, I just received my 1/72nd scale SA-43 Hammerhead from Fantastic Plastic. It is the one from the Space Above and Beyond TV-series from the mid nineties of the previous centurty. Boxart The parts: Decals by JBOT Assembly of the fuselage was quick and easy. I used a Pattex 5mins epoxy glue. By doing so I still could make some minor adjustments. I decided to fill the gaps for the underwing pylons and to create a clean Hammerhead. The pylons need to be placed in the bend of the wing (if you decide to use them). The size of the kit can be compared with a 1/72nd scale F-16. Smiffy
Nice. Will keep an eye on this build. I've been undecided about getting one or not.
Mike
I've got the series on Doovdee, but was never that fond of the design of the ship myself. A real shame they cancelled it just as it was getting into its stride
Arie Vos
Next step done. Completed decalling. Next step is another gloss coat and then the weathering. Enjoy the pics. Top view: Left side:
Arie Vos
Done! I've added some weathering. Used the airbrush and some drybrushing to do this. I hope uou cansee it on the pictures. The wheels from the kit are replaced by spare parts. Front wheel from a 1/72 Apache and the 4 wheel from main landing gear from 1/72 F-16C Revell kit. Hope you like it. AKULA
Looks very tidy - nice job! The Fantastic Plastic kits are always well turned out - i've got a couple of their cylon raiders, now sadly OOP, to build at some point.
