Bucc here: http://www.welshmodels.co.uk/RAFpage.html

Not sure about a UK Phantom, maybe get a F-4J to replicate the Phantoms that were brought in to replace the ones sent to the Falklands?

Spike,

I don't think anyone has done a Spey Phantom in 1/144 scale, but Tamiya made a Buccaneer and FG1 Phantom in 1/100. I believe both were re-issued a few years ago so might still be found for sale somewhere. Revell also boxed a bunch of 1/100 Tamiya kits including the Buccaneer (and possibly the FG1 as well) a long while ago.

HTH,

Jonathan

P.S. Found this Revell Bucc' on eBay Germany as an example: http://cgi.ebay.de/Revell-1-100-Hawker-Sid...2QQcmdZViewItem

You can also get a 1/144 Buccaneer from Area 88 in the Japanese "gashapon" series.

These, the F-toys and Café Reo airplanes seem to be very much over-looked by modelers. Yes, they are pre-painted and assembled (snap) with some markings painted on. But they are nicely molded and some markings come separate. There are even alternate markings available for a few. This makes re-modeling and fixing them up a bit better even easier. Where else are you going to get a 1/144 Westland Wyvern? Martin Kaye did an article on 1/144 trading toys over on ARC some time ago.

BTW, just surf Ebay with "F-toys, Café Reo or Area 88" in the model section search. The Buccaneer was readily available last year, but is becoming less listed these days. No Spey Phantom, yet, though.

There is F-4J and F-4C in 1/144th scale. It is a unpainted unassembled version of the pre-painted and assembled airplanes in a box from a few years ago. You could have gotten them as a set with aircraft and decals or aircraft or decals separately.
