spitfire23bc
Here's my offering for the build. It's the bog-standard Airfix Lanc in the BBMF Millenium box, along with the Xtradecal "Ton-up Lancasters" set, so I can build Phantom of the Ruhr rather than Mickey the Moocher. I'm planning on using some nice resin gun barrels and wheels, but I haven't got around to buying those yet... Dan
spitfire23bc
Made a brief start on this today. I still don't have the resin parts, and I'm hoping to source some unshrouded exhaust stacks, so this isn't much of a dent. It does feel good to have done something, though Dan
spitfire23bc
Well, no photos but I've started hacking the tail (to turn the rudders into Lincoln-style ones) and engine cowlings (so I can use the exhausts I have courtesy of Daz). Lots of plastic shavings and dust at the moment! Dan
spitfire23bc
My assorted aftermarket goodies have arrived and I couldn't resist having a poke at them this evening so I drilled out the main wheels to take the Airfix struts. Mmm, these wheels really are lovely! Dan
Antony Robertson
Those wheels look lovely! Antony
spitfire23bc
Those wheels look lovely!Antony My photo doesn't really do them justice. They're these. I never thought I'd be so impressed by a set of tiny wheels... I'm looking forward to work getting less busy so I can make some real progress! dylan the rabbit
What make are the unshrouded exhausts? I'm looking for a set myself. Cheers, Nick
spitfire23bc
Aargh! Looks like I'm not going to get this one done - real life has taken over. I've got the undercarriage bays done, the nacelles are glued to the wings, the fuselage is together and everything has been well and truly caked in putty. This is being a real pig of a kit - nothing fits, but I am getting there slowly. What make are the unshrouded exhausts?I'm looking for a set myself. Cheers, Nick Sorry Nick, I didn't see this until now. They were supplied by the very generous daz greenwood. Dan
