Max Headroom
My present to me at Chistmas............. The box shot This is the first of their products I have tried. At £7.99 from Modelzone Chester, it looks great value. Initial impressions are favourable. Three sprues, plus one more separately bagged for the cockpit glazing - a choice of one piece or open. Nice. No choice of stickies as it is the weekend edition. Therefore no photoetch or resin either. The only apparent difference between this and more mainstream products is that there are no locating lugs for the parts. So far I've only glued the wings together.............. .................which incorporates the cockpit assembly. Note that the wing leading edge will need tidying up - especially at the undercarriage fairing. and I have also attached the fuselage halves. There is a bit of 'raggedyness' to some of the mating surfaces, but I put that down to this being a medium run product and the fact that my copy probably is way down the production run. I have dry fitted the wings and fuselage together and come across my first problem, namely the ventral wing/fuselage joint I think this is going to take some fettling. The last thing I want to do is lots of chopping and sanding, so am hoping that there is an easy fix. It also appears that the wing fillet joint is very visible in the cockpit too. So that's something else that will need looking into. Ah well early days. I will spend the next few days trawling the interweb to get a feel for the beastie. Don't expect a lightning build! Any comments or tips welcome. Thanks for looking. Trevor
