general melchett
Hi folks, well here is are my offerings for the year, not as many as previously managed but work and major house alterations have played a major part in this, especially with the recent inclement eweather!. Having said that a lot of the builds have been a bit involved some for specialist websites, (no not those kind!!), magazines and a couple for new books that I\\\'m contributing towards. Anyhow I hope you enjoyed some of the builds. As always many thanks for all the kind comments and a very happy New Year from the Clan Melchett, Cheers all Melchie... In no particular order, Amodels X20M Kangeroo air launched heavy missile.. Amodels Tupolev TU-128 Fiddler.....what a pig of a model!! The ancient heavily modded Aurora AH-56 Cheyenne... Braz\\\'s lovely resin Tupolev TU-144 Charger.. Biggest build of the year was Italeri\\\'s Lockheed SR-75 Aurora ....this ones going into a new book on the subject by US aviation researcher Michael Schrack, should be published mid 2011.. XR-7 component of the Aurora. Probably my favorite this year, Trumpeters excellent Tupolev TU-22 M3 Backfire C......this one will feature in a Russian language book on the subject written by serving aircrew on the type, published later next year. Matchbox F3D Skynight...another little gem by this sorely missed company.. Another one to feature in an upcoming book on military VC 10 variants, the modded Airfix/Braz Vickers VC-10 Skybolt Vengeance... Another version of the Lockheed XR-7 Thunderdart for the Michael Schrack book. . Done for the Aurora website, an original Lost in Space cyclops diorama... These were finally finished off after a looooong time, the 1/4 scale Cenobites from the movie Hellraiser this time for a US horror/Fantasy magazine... general melchett
Restored 1/16th Heng Long T-34/85...which was given to me in a VERY poor state... Mach 2's awful 1/48th scale Douglas Thor IRBM put up a valiant fight!. This one was done for the Bomber Command sig relating to operations at my local (ex) airfield , RAF Hemswell. Still has to have the red inner part of the roundels to finish.Later I hope to add the launch tower complex... And a sneak preview of two models I've just finished.... Firstly a scratchbuilt 1/144th Myasischev M52a Bounder nuclear missile carrier, (the intended production version of the M50 Bounder )... more on these two in the New Year.. And a 1/48th Bronco Chengdu J10S twin seater. This one will feature in an upcoming issue of MIS and was done for a new book which I am currently working on with Andreas Ruprecht about new Chinese jet fighter types.. Screech
And a 1/48th Bronco Chengdu J10S twin seater. This one will feature in an upcoming issue of MIS and was done for a new book which I am currently working on with Andreas Ruprecht about new Chinese jet fighter types.. Outstanding work Andy, I saw that twin seater kit from Bronco yesterday at a friends house. It sure is a well detailed kit from a otherwise strictly armour company. All the best for your book projects in 2011. Cheers,

Daniel
As always great builds, but it's the subjects that make them stand out. Dan
keefr22
Well, as I sure I've said before Andy - they're all brilliant, but that Fiddler is still my favourite! Suppose I should summon up the courage & have a go at mine next year.....!!! Keef
general melchett
Thanks again , Michael, yep the J10 is a really great kit, packed with detail, including PE parts, huge weapons load out and massive decal sheet, all for £25! I really didn't have to add a huge amount to it, (only the cockpit interior plumbing really), more on this kit later. Keefy, Suppose I should summon up the courage & have a go at mine next year.....!!! Yes you most certainly should young man...got one or two more Amonsters on the production line for next year... Cheers all and Happy New Year...,

turnerdad
It's been a good year Andy, beautiful selection. My favourites are definitely the Aurora and the Backfire, may have to pick up one of the latter. All the best for the new year, let's catch up at Modelfest? general melchett
Thanks Deon, if in some small way they give you any ideas for future builds then that's really great. Nick thanks, shame we didn't get a chance to hook up more in 2010 but I'll definitely be at MK and Modelfest later in the year. (Hopefully have the 1/72nd 3mn Bison done by then ). A very Happy New Year to you and yours..... Andy

woody37
A great collection there General. What I find amazing is the amount of research that you must of put into the builds, not to mention the talent.
Smiffy
I think you definitely win the most interesting subjects award (again), General sah. Some superb stuff, but the Backfire is definitely my fave.
general melchett
Thanks guys, Neil that's the fun part for me to be honest...not trying to be clever but the build is almost the last part of the process for me, I just love searching around for this stuff, plus I have a good many friends 'in the know' as it were!, who kindly help me out with the rarer and more obscure stuff...(they seem to get as much fun out of it as me!!)... Thanks Smiffy, the Backfire is a great model to build, if you have the space, (and readys of course ) then it's well worth the time and effort...........................I think you might just like the mighty 3MS Bison when its done
F111Fan
Absolutely stunning General, and I knew you couldn't resist another Bounder The standard of your builds is absolutely astronomical, it's amazing. Keep it up!
