Phil @ Flory Models
That's It, I'm officially adopting Daz OK, wash on over the flat coat with the the dark dirt. let it dry And wipe off I brushed a cotton bud up and down to give it that streaky look. Because is on a flat coat it's got a dirty look to it now. It looks like it's going to have to go in the air defence role of winders and sparrows. Takamota
Another cracker Phil. The wash really does the business on a flat coat
Bennygman
Just found the thread and read through the lot - superb work mate. Putting wash over matt coat goes against all other advice, but there's no arguing with the results, that dirty camo looks absolutely superb. You can always spot the real experts - they're the ones who can break the rules and get away with it. Steve.

Alan P
Another cracker Phil. The wash really does the business on a flat coat Thoroughly agree, but I must say i can't get the sweetheart stuff off a flat coat - how much residue is there meant to be after washing over a matt finish? Is it meant to stain slightly or leave a distinct residue? Love using "the wash" over satin or gloss coat tho'. Looks magic.
Rich F
Looking good so far Phil, cool subject. Cant wait to see this one finished.

Is it meant to stain slightly or leave a distinct residue?Love using "the wash" over satin or gloss coat tho'. Looks magic. Thanks guys, If your flat coat is like 36 grit sandpaper it will stick but I havent found I cant get it off yet. Also are you using the new Promodellers or Florymodels wash? Try using a sponge with warm water, use lots of water and it will come off and you can start again.
Alan P
Also are you using the new Promodellers or Florymodels wash? Florymodels - I spose it's time to stock up on the new stuff... Try using a sponge with warm water, use lots of water and it will come off and you can start again. I'll give it a whirl next time, but i have reverted to using oils on matt finish now. Thanks for your time in answering Phil, Al

Phil @ Flory Models
OK so it's all done but the weather is so I can't get any good photos but I thought I would show you a little sneak peek of thing to come from Promodellers next year The nice dirty streaks were made in five minutes with a new product (no name yet). You just wipe it on and that it a nice easy way to make you model extra dirty and with all the promodeller range it come off if you don't like it, that simple. There is no other weathering done with pastels or a airbrush etc.

dswoofie
Hmmmmm This 'streaky stuff' seems rather interesting... looks pretty good too! Were those exhaust stains also done with this mystery stuff as well? You better put me down for a bottle/box/packet/or whatever of this spooky streaky stuff when it's available then! Karl. P.S. Phabulous Phantom too!, forgot that bit!
