Hi All,

I was looking at the Hobbyboss 1/48 and Trumpeter 1/35 Tanks. Just wanted to ask if anyone has built or seen any. What they're like detail wise, buildability and accuracy.

They are very cheap, when compared to other makes, just wondered any thoughts?

Thanks.

Wiht the various inevitable price hykes of both Tamiya and Dragon next year the likes of Hoobyboss will come into their own!!

48th Hobbyboss are fantastic value, and the newer 1/35 trumpeter cannot be grumbled at.

Trumpeter's stuff is all quite buildable with a little effort. Some parts have flash and mould lines to remove, there a heaps of release pin marks to fill and some of the detail can be a little "soft", but hey,,,,, a bit of graft with files and sandpaper, filler and a bit of twiddling with a knife etc. and they build into very acceptable replicas at not a lot of cash outlay.

Recently just finished the MkIV Bridgelayer and was more than satisfied with it. Have made a start on the Centauro and the LAV-R, both very smart little model kits. You get out of them what you want to put in I reckon and these days many of them contain etched brass etc.

As far as Hobbyboss kits go I can only speak from the one example I have built,,,, that being the High Speed Tractor. Great little kit, very detailed and again containing many etched parts, very buildable and a very different subject. Price was brilliant and I can honestly say that I will be building more of their releases in the future.

So,,,, on both counts,,,,, very good model kits that come at a great price.
