woody37
One of the things I like about the Airfix tribute site is the threads with aircraft of the same type in one thread, great for inspiration and ideas. Thought it might be good to do something like this here. I'm planning on doing a Dambuster and BII at some point, so if you've done either, I'd like to see them ! Anyway, I'll start with my BI .... Mal
Neil That is a beautiful Lancaster, but what scale, it could easily be 1/48 but I assume 1/72 and what kit have you used. Malcolm

theplasticsurgeon
Here are my Lancasters - all Airfix: First a BBMF model from about 1990 This model was put on the stand and given to a colleague whose father flew rear turret during the war. Sadly he died last year, but the model was proudly displayed with his log book at the funeral. Next my Grand Slam Lancaster: Finally my Dambuster: There's a few more in the stash all with plans. Conversion of another Airfix Dambuster (no top turret) to a Lancastrian. Paragon conversion of a Revell Lanc to a Manchester, and another Airfix Lanc - probably as Still Going Strong. adamsoco
Hi, this is my first time posting on the forum and my first model. It was built straight out of the box. Is there anything I can do to stop the decals silvering for the next model I attempt? Adam

T-Tango
Is there anything I can do to stop the decals silvering for the next model I attempt?Adam Hi Adam, yes apply your decals to a gloss finish, apply your paint, then apply either gloss varnish or if you can get some the old Jonsons Klear, apply your decals, when they are dry, apply a varnish of your choice. Mattie Bee
A post for Lancasters? I'll throw mine into the fold, seen here before but no harm in repeating. 1/48 Diorama of PD259 463 Sqn RAF Waddington, This model now resides with the remains of the real aircraft in the heritage center at RAF Waddington Also a 1/72 version presented to the land owner who's land the real aircraft was found on
