eng
Just a couple of quick pic's of this on-going project, its pretty much together apart from the canopy and windshield, I need to get the crew painted first. It will be "airborne" when complete, hence the wheel wells are closed up. A short window of opportunity presented itself today to do some modelling and the thought of pushing this on briefly (the C-27 is still my priority project at the mo!) was to good to miss. To inspire myself to get some paint on it I took it outside and sprayed the fin with Halfords white plastic primer, followed by a single coat of Humbrol 25 to get an idea of how it will look in 14 Sqn's special scheme. It worked a treat, it looks superb even though the fin needs another coat, I now can't wait to get the grey onto this machine, a job for the Crimbo hol's me thinks!! Alan P
Good idea to do the wheels up and avoid the ire of Spike! Looking good so far! What's the kit and scale?
eng
Thank's chaps! Its the Revell 1/72 kit again with the Model Alliance GR.4 conversion (basically the chin pod and the Linescan for the GR.4A), I haven't bothered going too daft with modifying the instrument panels as by the time I'd jammed the crew in there you can't see much. The crew came out of the spares box, one is from a Hasegawa F-16 and the other came from the Hasegawa ground/flight crew set. The detail in this kit is lovely and you get a fair selection of weap's to boot! I've heard the radome ain't 100% perfect but it's good enough for me. The only thing I change on this kit is to reduce the nose oleo to get the aircraft to sit level/slightly nose down, NOT nose high as it will be if you use it straight out the box. I'm planning to have this inflight with BOZ, SkyShadow on the outer pylons, 2x 1500ltr tanks on the inner pylons, another 1500ltr tank on the R/h shoulder pylon and a CBLS pod on the L/h shoulder pylon. Oh boy, how much work is saved building kits inflight!!!! Rgds, Eng
