Peter Marshall
I had this crazy idea of having a short 8-10 week group build Anything you want to build but strictly Out of the Box - no PE, no Resin, no AM decals not even wire for brake lines or tape seat belts. The idea is to just build and paint a kit, any kit without getting hung up on extras. Please feel free to add any suggestions or ideas - we could limit the eligible kits, but i'd rather try and get as many people as possible to 'have a go'. What do you all think ? daz greenwood
I'd be up for this Peter. I have a few in the stash that are suitable.
AnonymousDFB1
Good idea Peter, I would like to see something like this and run along the lines of the Airfix Starter kit GB so we canhave some fun and maybe get some of the members youngsters involved. Shar2
What if the kit comes with PE/resin? Either way I'll be up for this, even if it's to get some of my armoured vehicles built.
Peter Marshall
I would suggest avoiding kits with PE / Resin included, but strictly it's in the box so it should be fine. Eduard Profipack kits are a good example, I would go for the weekend version without the PE / masks. My idea is mainly to try and build a kit in a short gb, and keep it as simple as possible, with as much Fun. It gives you a chance to build some of those kit's staring at you from the stash with support from your peers ( or is that jeers from your support...) AnonymousDFB1
I like the idea of keeping it short and simple and would like to encourage all the junior builders that took part in the Starter Kit GB this year.
rowmk9
It'd be nice to do an fully OOB build, I'd be able to find an entry, something like a 1/72 WW2 fighter would fit nicely I reckon.
wkennerley
Yea why not, I have a few that would suit A37B Dragonfly Academy .1/72 P-40E Heller .1/72 P-47 Revell .1/72 Curtiss SOC-3 Seagull Hasegawa .1/72 so count me in Wayne

stevehnz
I'd be keen, I've a couple of Corsairs in Kiwi markings which would fit with this, mind you, one is in a bag not a box , would that exclude it? Steve.

T0M4ever
I'm trying to build all of Revell's 1/144 special scheme Tornados, so I can add some of them to the mix. They don't take long!
Tim T
Count me in. Not sure with what but there is lots of choice. I may make it a Group Group Build and rope in my 6 and 7 year old to help me if that is ok? Tim

AnonymousDFB1
Well I count 19 interested members. I take it you'll co host Peter with AN Other Sort out a length and a time frame and as it'll be a short one I will try and tag it in for next year
Peter Marshall
Yes i'm willing to host, so any co-hosts wishing to volunteer. As for a length i would suggest something along the lines of 6 or 8 weeks - nice and short but should give enough time. For a time frame i'm easy, though I think the best time to encourage younger members (and non members), would be to coincide with school holidays, maybee easter or the summer holidays ? Suggestions and comments on this welcomed ? Peter
Mark M
easter would be good! can i add my lad he wants to make a hunter that walrus gave him! or a pegasus tank from the loft stash
