jamboseven
Folks type this into google Davis Monthan AFB Tucson Arizona Look for 'S Wilmont Road' Look for the 'T' Junction on it There is a B-52 and B-1 on one side of the road. On the other side is a mish mash of other aircraft... But look at the one right at the end closest to the T Junction is that me or does that look a hell of a lot like a Jedi Starfighter? ice35
Hi Jambo looks like a Lockheed D-21/M-21 drone, if you look for it on google you will se a few images like the one you saw. Richard
keefr22
Hmmm - is it just me? When I zoom in, whatever it is disappears??!! When its on the zoom the page opens with, the drone (or Starfighter!!) is visible between the row of helos & T-37's(?) but as I increase magnification it's flown off!! So, doctored images or were they taken at different times???!!! Spooky.....!!!! K Edit: just been looking a bit more at the fascinating stuff stored there. If you go east along Picato Street, then take a right past the guardhouse south down S.Wilmont Road, just past the junction to Coolidge Street, whats parked alongside the KC-135 & Cessna O-2 & is casting a long pointed delta shaped shadow?? Looks like something General Melchett would build....!!! What a fantastic line up of stored aircraft to look at though! IainA
Keef What you're pointing out in your second paragraph is what Jambo wanted us looking at in the first place However, I get your drift about the other item you've been looking at, it does "disappear"....now that's what I call Stealth Tech. keefr22
KeefWhat you're pointing out in your second paragraph is what Jambo wanted us looking at in the first place After I posted I had a feeling it might have been - I was originally looking for an X-wing!!! indeed!! jamboseven
Was that the drone they tried fitting on the SR-71? I must admit it was a 'What the hell' moment when i first spotted it, Then noticed there are a couple stored together further to the West... Why for a joke hasn't somebody there thought about piling a load of the cut up 'bits' together, Throw a tarpaulin over the top of it.. see if the satelitte image and the shadow on the ground make us think it's an X wing hiding in among it all There is a bit of the Boneyard with loads of old rusting B-52's all cut up.. Gonna use that for painting up my Fine Molds Slave

attman007
Theres also on of those drones tucked away in the Pima Air and Space museum. I could spend hours looking at this on google maps! If you carry on going south on s wilmot till you get to e ervington rd zoom in and look slightly south and to the left there is a ch-53 flying! pigsty
Yes, it's a D-21. It's not disappearing on mine but other stuff does; this is just because the closer views are from a different series of photographs. It looks to me as though that line along E Coolidge Street towards S Wilmot Road is there for tourists. Did you spot the swing-wing B-52s way down to the south-east?
