RULES

1. all builds must be less than 20% at the start of your build, if unsure ask one of the mods

2. it MUST be part of the V Force or dirivertive i.e. Victor tanker, we will also include What If V Force, anyone see the South African Victor in the latest SAMI? or could you imagine a all over barley grey vitcot tanker and a patchwork grey vulcan in 9sqn markings, and lets not forget Devilfishes conversion

3. now to open it up a bit, we will also include a specialised armamaents section so if somone wants to make a blue steel or blue danube we will welcome it as long as its V Force orientated

4. any other ideas please ask

I may join in this depending on when this is, and other commitments, I've just done a swap and one of the items I'm awaiting the return of is a vulcan.

ie I'll have the follow

Airfix Vulcan

Heritage etch set

and I have a pair of skybolts for the vulcan too sitting here waiting.

sadly 1/72 is not my favoured scale but who knows! so I'm a maybe with a kit that fits, we will see depends on date.

I had one, and was shot of it, in almost the same day, a truely woeful kit.

well thats made my mind up no mach 2 valiant for me,

im a professional guitarist and teacher and i dont think my hands would do well with this kit,

ive got a few lindberg vulcans on the stash pile, might try and do somthing with one of those.

morning fellow modeling pals, any more takers for v force gb. ive noticed some are worried about size of these planes in 1/72 but the cost of the 1/144th kits is worth it but alot to pay for none the less,

one idea is the lindberg vulcan and victor kits in 1/96 if you search on ebay and search international these are availible new and rereleased from the states and are fairly cheep i bought a load a while ago with no problems. i bought a few to make the postage worth it.

just an idea, not the most acurate kits but with the skills of a few on here they could be altered and improved,

however there not that bad in my opinion.

not spent much time studying the victor yet, but the vulcan has big intakes and they need to be narrowed out and some work to add engine faces.

the cock pit is a bit flat. apart from that if you want a straight wing prototype or early b1 its a good way to go.

undercarriage is a bit tall but it should be taller on a b1 anyhow.

it also has moveable flaps aerilerons rudder etc. so you can add a bit of a pose to it.

also wheels are moveable, but lack detail,

i used wheels pinched from a 1/72 airfix vulcan to get them looking better.

the decals are oversized for the sides and undersized for the top and under sides however this can easily be cured with the use of fantasyprintshop decals or the ones from hannants.

it could also be possible to make the wing kinked slightly for a standard b1.

and for the more capable modeller a b1a or b2 maybe possible.

the fit aint to bad either and i belive is a good option for those wanting a decent model for not much money that dont take up all your space.

it does also have raised panel lines so a rescribe could improve it further.

just a suggestion all the best guys.

Hi chaps i have an opportunity possibly, and i need some help as im out of my depth.

i might have finaly after over a decade of seaching located a frog vulcan b1.

it is complete and totaly unstarted im told. i was hoping to try and find a way to replicate all the parts without damaging it so i could make more of them,

is there a way to safly make moldings of all the parts any ideas, i was thinking latex and resing but never done this before.

should i be aware of any copyright issues ill be doing it for myself if i can do it but would be happy to help others.

cheers rob

Having to move stored models from my sons loft ......

Which reminded me of the GB.

It sems to have gone very quiet, I hope it's not slipping away like the Vulcan GB.

I PM's robvulcan regarding my two started Vulcans, asking if these would be OK to include. As far as he was concerned that would be O.K. Although he did say it may be worth contacting the other Moderators. So do you other Mod's need to see pictures of how far they are along ? They've not been touched since I think last July.

If accepted I would like to be on the list as I fear it may be the only way to encourage me to finish them - a white B.1 and B.2
