SaintsPhil
Morning all! I managed to get my grubby mits on a 1/48 jag kit from eBay (I know that's almost a swear word on here sorry). To avoid getting completely ripped off I brought a Heller jag A, which seemed to go cheaper than the Airfix boxing. I assume I'm right that it's the same kit, with a separate sprue for the different parts? I know the nose is different, no 'chin' I was going to have a stab at adding this somehow, unless any kind soul has a spare they would be willing to sell/swap with me? Are there any other major differences? I've got a resin pit on the way and will probably invest in some weapons and possible the flightpath set of over wing pylons and drop tanks, plus of course decals....could get expensive afterall! Sorry I've rambled a bit! Any help much appreciated Thanks Phil
Giorgio N
Another difference is the lack on french examples of the RWR fairing on the tail. The area around the gun muzzles is also different, with a different arrangement of the cooling holes. There are differences in the cockpit too, as the RAF planes had a much more sophisticated avionics Other sure will know more
pigsty
My Jaguar will be an IM, so I shan't need the nose. You're welcome to it if you PM me your address. Can't help at the other end, though. I should also have the basic RAF decals left over (mine is the original Airfix boxing but they're still in good condition), but I'll need to hang on to the stencilling. That's great thanks, PM incomming! If anyone could post some links of pics for the other bits I'd be very appreciative, might have to try dome sratch building! One last request, I've seem in some build threads the turned aluminium spike (I assume pitot tube or some other sensor) where are these from? I can't find anything by searching the web? Thanks guys I'll post some pics when I finally start building!
stever219
You could build a very early RAF Jaguar with the original pointed nose. They did, howeer, have the RWR fairing on the fin.
Giorgio N
IIRC there were also very early RAF jaguars with pointed nose and no RWR.
Giorgio N
IIRC there were also very early RAF jaguars with pointed nose and no RWR. Checked a few pictures to confirm this, and found a picture of XX111 "01" of 226 OCU in 1976 with the pointy nose and no RWR on the tail. The plane is in the wrap around green/grey camo

I don't suppose any one knows where I could get a metal nose sensor from? Cheers
