german ammo boxs

Hi guys,

anyone advise me on the colour for German shell box used to contain PaK40 shells these are the steel type not the wooden crates same for the tube type containers would they be fieldgrey?.

I'd say you were correct with your Field Grey.

Here is a site worth bookmarking showing many of the munnitions and carriers use by the Germans during WW2. Its not in English but not too hard to guess and navigate.

Hope its of use.

Hi Guys,

I'm probably a bit late replying to this thread, in my experiance the vast majority of Pak 40 metal cases are yellow as are many of the other cases. If anyone wants photos I'll take a few and post them. I have a few of them lying around.
