TimJ
As the Allied ground forces are a bit thin on the ground at the moment I'll be building these. Allez France!

Mike
Almost too wee! I built the FT-17 in 1:35 and that was tiny already!

jamboseven
My god, how old are these molds.... My dad built this and I think nearly all the other Matchbox ones in this scale for me, when i was like 5....I'm 36 now. I always liked the firefly on the broken bridge or the churchill bridge layer.. Does this one still come with the french wall? Simon
TimJ
It took me long enough to get started but I finally got going yesterday. So far I've assembled the hull of the Renault and some components of the Char B.1. I'll need to do some painting on the Renault before I attach the running gear. The bottom of the hull on the Char B.1 is slightly warped so I'll have to try and straighten it out. It looks like they should go together fairly quickly now that I've got started so I'll see how far I can get before the GB finishes.
TimJ
Main construction has been completed and I should have some paint on them in the next day or two. Does this one still come with the french wall? As you can see, the wall is still included.
Erwin
Main construction has been completed and I should have some paint on them in the next day or two. Pitty you didn't make the enddate.Still nice to see you are going to finish it.
TimJ
Pitty you didn't make the enddate. Yes, if I'd started on them earlier I'd have finished in plenty of time. Anyhow, I've started the paintwork. The Renault has had a couple of coats of Hu63 and the Char a coat of Hu91.
TimJ
Work is still progressing, albeit slowly . The Renault has been camouflaged and decalled. I'll need to dirty the tracks up a bit as well as those of the Char B.1, which has also had its camouflage completed. The tanks should be finished soon so I'll need to paint the base and figures. TimJ
The Char B.1 has had the decals applied. I've also been doing some painting of the diorama base. Just a few things left to do now to finish these off.
TimJ
The figures have been painted and added to the base. The tanks just need a coat of matt varnish and it'll be finished.
bruce3371
Aah, nostalgia moment! I built most of this range in the old Matchbox days, wish I still had them!
jimbuna
Really coming together now....there has always been something about seeing French soldiers in those trench coats.
TimJ
I gave the tanks a coat of matt varnish today to finish these off. The tracks on the Char B.1 weren't a good fit but apart from that they went together well.
