Verlinden Productions magazine

Guys,

Sorry if this is the wrong forum for asking but I've a quick couple of questions.

I've been gifted a collection of Verlinden magazines in like-new condition from volume 1 number 1 to volume 9 number 3 as well as Verlinden catalogs 4, 5, 5 (updated), 7, 9 and 13.

How many magazines were there in the run before they stopped being produced and are these now worth anything to the collector?

Hi Nairn,

I used to have this publication some moons ago. But sold them on once I moved away from AFV modeling.

It was If I recall qtly. Covering builds & use of Verlinden products, was a good publication.

Catalogues! Well just an advert for what they produced.

Worth anything?

the 64m$ question. There will be those who may want to complete a collection? Others may want certian articles contained within.

Verlinden in it's early stages produced 'sets' for Aircraft/AFV's that some makers now produce

i.e Challenger 3, Various M113 Isralei variants, Sturmtiger etc.

Hi Adrian,

Thanks for the reply - I was just curious about these as, many moons ago, I used to buy them from Brian Sherriffs modelshop here in Dundee before life intervened and I moved away from scale modelling for a number of years. It really is quite nostalgic to flick through them and have a look at what was considered 'state of the art' back in the mid to late 80's.

As to the catalogues - I think that all of them are purely for the purpose of advertising for sale whichever manufacturer produces them - but these certainly look fantastic being, as they are, photos of the built, painted and weathered products as opposed to a gathering of boxtop illustrations.
