David_in_Fremont
Looks like you've made a very nice start! As to the white belly, almost all aircraft wore glossy or semi-glossy paints when they left the paint shop, they just didn't stay that way for very long. For mine I'm using dead flat white for the landing gear wells and a semi-gloss on the belly. Even though it will all get a flat coat in the end, the two whites do end-up looking different from each other. HTH
Loki
Cool. Have you got the macro function set on your camera? I only just learnt that taking photos outside in natural light and on a constant background improves quality immensely. Hope this helps.

If that is an F4J then I'm afraid it can't be a 2 squadron a/c! They operated the FGR2 which is a different airframe altogether. The underside colour on all RAF Phantoms was Light Aircarft grey...never white! HTH Rich R

PHREAK
unless it was a FAA F-4M.... WRONG! That would have been a camouflaged FG1 which 767 squadron used for a short while. Na na ne na na!

Eric2020
Perhaps it is time to compile an listing with all types of aircraft used by the RAF and what is the best kit to use? There's no Harrier GR.4, it's GR.5. I believe Hasegava makes (made?) a Harrier GR.5 and they will soon release a Harrier GR.7. There are also the Harrier T.2 and T.4, but I only think they're available as conversions. I'm speaking 1/72. It's incorrect to use a "-" between the role designator and the mark number. To do it 'by the book' it would be, as an example, Tornado GR.Mk.1, but mostly the Mk. is replaced by a dot, giving Tornado GR.
Eric2020
I will use the correct terms than. I just brainstormed the listing, but more good input is very welcome! It may give use valueble information on what kit to buy, and also it is value for money. Sometimes it is just very hard to get an accurate model, and by looking at this listing it saves loads of time searching what to use. When there is an accurate listing it may become sticky. Helping all Britmodellers getting an accurate RAF model.

Helping all Britmodellers getting an accurate RAF model. From what I've heard, and judging by the GR.1 kit (I actually believe it's supposed to be a GR.1(T)), the Airfix Tornado isn't really value for money. If it's cheap, it might be a good parts-cow for converting the Revell tho'.Accurate RAF models are a worthy objective
