Rowan Broadbent
Hi Mike, I've just found this pic of Otto Kissenberths' aircraft for the summer of 1917, if you look closely at the wings they appear to be 'lozenge' covered, I don't know how that affects your build mate?Pete No, you're OK Mike! Otto K had more than one Albatros, as Staffelführer he would have had two machines allocated to him at any time and every time a new machine was delivered to the Jasta he'd be able to help himself if he wanted and pass an old one down the line, so he'd have had a number of Albatrosse at various times. The one you're making was also covered by Wingnuts in their 32nd kit of the D.V:
Rowan Broadbent
You've gone all quiet Mike, finishing off your amurcan floater perhaps? If you wanted to hang on for the new legsses and weewheels, I can send you a sample when I get them... just trying to encourage you................... There's an element of that yes Rowin' I've also had a few days where I've not got further than switching the light on in the workshop too I'm back now though, and just need to finish off sorting the seams and then flap around wondering what to do next Oh, with regard to the legs, I've got some plastic strut of the same dimensions that I could insert into the leggy area just after the attachment "boots", and run a brass pin through the lot. It'll save expense, delay & all that jazz. Hell, it might even fool some people into thinking I have some modelling skills
Mike
There's grave danger of some paint going on the Albatros this evening... I've got a nice light grey for the undersides of the wings, and I've even mixed up my own purple from some Vallejo red & blue to my own ratio, and adjusted down to make it a little duller. Now if only I could be bothered cleaning out an airbrush Oooh... another question for the WWI experts. Does the D.V have visible rib-tapes? I'll use some masking tape strips & Tamiya smoke if they do
crookedmouth
Come on Mike - get a move on! Can't wait to see it in that gorgeous finish.
Mike
Would do, but we had an unplanned trip to hozzy today, so plans were shelved for modelling for the daylight hours. Everything's turned out alright though (wasn't me for a change), so I might get chance this evening
