Here are the duplicates of some of the release news that I am finding so far on the first day of the Tokyo show

DRAGON AND CYBERHOBBY

1)1287020550.jpg2) 1287020517.jpg3) 1287020473.jpg4) 1287020407.jpg

1) Artwork for a new 72nd F-16C that we first saw earlier this year at Nurnberg

2) CADD for the new 72nd Beast from Columbus! SB2C-3 Helldiver

3) Missed it by this much.... 72nd Hurricane and Spit in honor of the 70th Anniversary of the battle of Britain

4) Missed it part deux...Luftwaffe birds from the B0B - BF-109E, Bf-110 and Ju-87B Stuka

5)1287020364.jpg6)1287020189.jpg7)1287020121.jpg8)1287020069.jpg

5) CADD pic for a new 72nd F6F-5N along with artwork for another 72nd Raptor. This MAY be the reason we have not heard much from Eduard on thier 72nd Hellcat recently. Though looking at the CADD it appears a much more detailed kit than even the 48th Eduard Hellcat is. Should mean the marketplace is large enough for both

6) Kettenkrad -

7) Eighth Army 25 Pounder field gun and crew - replacing the 40+ year old Tamiya kit

8) Dragons 'Operation Pelieu' subject - Thanks to Vinnie Branagan on Missing Lynx - it is an IJN Type 2 (Ka-Mi) Amphibious Tank

9)1287019894.jpg10)1287019845.jpg11)1287019634.jpg12) middle_1287024077.jpg

9) 72nd armor releases including a USMC Amtrac (LVT-(A)1) with the turret of the M-3 Stewart/Honey , Krupp Potze and SDKFZ-222 armored car

10) 35th Kleiner Panzerbefehlswagen (klPzBefWg) - okay I grabbed this from wiki...no way could I get this designation right! The command and control variant of the Panzer I chasis

11) And just placed here as it is next to the Dragon pics - the CADD/Poster for the Great Wall Hobby 48th Fw-189 Uhu recon aircraft

12) The poster for the kit of USS Albany - one of the first guided missile crusiers in the US Navy

Trumpeter and Hobbyboss

1) 1287027714.jpg2) 1287027635.jpg3) 1287027521.jpg4)1287027447.jpg

1) 72nd Helix AND here is the mystery 'Focke Wulf ' sprue pic we saw a few weeks past - a Hobbyboss Ta-152C in 48th. 32nd Spitfire Vb in the foreground

2) 32nd F-84 Thunderjet and in the foreground the 48th F3H Demon. Box art for the Hobbyboss 48th F-14A in the background (VF-32 Swordsmen - Thanks Stephen)

3) F3H Demon - Another Ta-152 in the foreground. See pict#5

4) Close up of the Ta-152C (looks to be a series)

5) 1287027359.jpg6)middle_1287027185.jpg7) middle_1287027107.jpg8)middle_1287027036.jpg

5) Another Ta-152C variant - a torpedo bomber. - editorial comment - not 100% sure I like Luft '46 direction these may be showing. Ta-152Cs were never operational.

6) The new Czech DANA self propelled gun.

7) A paper Panzer I of some sort. A Panzer I superstructure with the late war suspension style as found on Panthers and King Tigers. New Chinese MBT ZTZ-96A in forground

8) Merkava IV - first of at least 3 variants that I have heard about. Academy is also releasing a second variant in 2011

9) middle_1287026077.jpg10) middle_1287026024.jpg11) middle_1287025990.jpg12) middle_1287025925.jpg

9) One that many around here await - the new 35th Landrover Wolf

10) Don't have the foggiest idea....a Paper Panzer VK 405.02 (P)V

11) Another one...looks to be a variant of a King Tiger based upon the turret VK45.02 (P)H

12) Pit Road 72nd kit of the new Japanese Type 10 MBT. Thanks to those on Missing Lynx for identifying the vehicle

13)middle_1287025809.jpg

13) 35th scale BTR-60 Soviet troop carrier

Not sure why they'd bother with the Helldiver. The Academy kit would be very hard to beat. The CAD for the SB2C also shows a couple of errors: an antenna mast on both sides of the nose (should only be on one) and a pitot tube on both wings (inverted on the right.) They probably just designed one side, and then reversed the data for the other, creating a mirror image. Hasegawa did the same thing with the B-24D and B-25J, creating some annoying inaccuracies.

I'm definitely looking forward to the Hellcat though. Amazingly, there isn't a really "definitive" kit of the F6F in 1/72. Haseagawa is the best, but suffers from completely bogus wheelwells, and has raise panel lines.

As of yet I have yet to see a surprise aircraft announcement yet. The Hobbyboss Ta-152C comes close and the Dragon 109E as a 32nd as a surprise due to the scale, but nothing from Tamiya/Hasegawa/Academy/Trumpeter yet that we had not already seen as coming
