Bennygman
Hi all, Here's a few shots of the Do 335 I built for the Monogram group build on ARC. Not the easiest of builds due to all the cut-outs in the fuselage and the alternative rear decks to accommodate the single and two-seaters. Plenty of seams to fill and difficult alignment requiring shims and extra tabs all over the place. I think the result is worth it though, and I like the slightly more unusual colour scheme. I assume this was a part-finished machine that was liberated by the allies, I believe that it was later tested at Farnboro, before crashing and sadly killing the crew. Something a little different though... Steve. Edited October 17, 2007 by Bennygman
Richard M
That's really nice, I like the different paint scheme and markings. Is it 1/48? (I recently did the old 1/72 Matchbox). Best Rich
perry
thats a nice, clean build and slightly more unusual too - well done that man!!!
Mike
Lovely build Steve IIRC, the bird was liberated by Eric "Winkle" Brown, flown to England in difficult circumstances & tested there. The reason for the crash was a fire in the aft engine, which knocked out the control cables for the tail, giving the pilot(s) no chance, sadly I love the Anteater, and have both Tamiya 1 & 2 seaters in my stash. I've also offered up this Monogram kit as a prize for the Jag GB, so if you fancy a free one, just build a good Jag
