Obi-Jiff Kenobi
I've got one of these in the stash somewhere. It's not a bad little kit, although not quite as good as the Hobby Spot U/Tamiya one, IMO. Obi-Jiff edited for spelling like a numpty! Peter O
When I built my 1/32 X-1 for the OOB group build, I used Polly Scale Soviet Brown #2. It's a great match for the pumpkin orange. PS Utility Orange and GN Orange are practically identical, so any of the three will work fine. Peter
wkennerley
First coat of colour, its a bit blotchy, so tomorrow I will sand and spray again.

Obi-Jiff Kenobi
I guess I had best look out for new decals then? Want some Tamiya ones? I've got the Tamiya kit, and bought the Cutting Edge decals, so the kit ones are going spare. Just PM me your address if they'll be of any use. marty_hopkirk
Cutting Edge did a nice set of 72 scale Bell X-1 decals. I think Cutting Edge are no more. But, one maybe able to still pick them up? Marty...

Obi-Jiff Kenobi
In the second pic, it looks like it's flown through a cloud of Marmite! All joking aside, it's coming along very nicely. Obi-Jiff

wkennerley
Plane done, the marmite washed off ok except for a few places near the nose, it also kinda highlighted the decal edges a bit which is annoying as I put on a coat of klear first.
