Tiger331
I'm looking to start putting together a project to build one of the Aeronautica Militaire Italiani (AMI) F-16s - I am assuming one of the Kinetic examples (F-16AM ?) will fit the bill but I'm not sure - Maybe the Tamiya Block 25/32 can be downgraded ? Any advice gratefully received. Tiger331
Giorgio N
I'm not too familiar with the Kinetik kits and what is in each box. However what I can add is that Italian F-16s are former USAF F-16 ADF. These were conversion of F-16A and have some detail differences, among which the more visible are the bird slicer antennas above and below the radome and long fairings on the tail base. The kinetik F-16AM box contains the tail base fairings and the upper bird slicers, I'm not sure about the lower antennas. The cockpit should be the same of the F-16A and not the AM one. I've read that the Rokaf box of the kinetik F-16A has the same ADF parts, but don't know if it has the original F-16A cockpit. If it can help, a good detailed walkaround of an italian ADF is here: http://www.tantopergioco.it/nggallery/page...m-2/gallery-82/
Stephen
If you can hang fire for a little longer DACO have this set coming out which would enable you to convert a Tamiya Blk25 to an ADF http://ultra.glo.be/daco/KDCC4803.html Stephen
Mike V
Just an ADF tail hardly qualifies as a conversion. Not only does it lack key ADF details such as a search light, AIFF Antennas, and 501 pylons, it lacks the most important sub-assembly; an F-16A cockpit. I'm looking to start putting together a project to build one of the Aeronautica Militaire Italiani (AMI) F-16s - I am assuming one of the Kinetic examples (F-16AM ?) will fit the bill but I'm not sure - Maybe the Tamiya Block 25/32 can be downgraded ?Any advice gratefully received. Tiger331 You really can’t build an ADF from the Kinetic AM kit, as it does not have an F-16 F-16A cockpit. While the Kin F-16AM kit does provide an ADF tail dorsal, you should note that it’s “grossly” inaccurate; one for the worst in kit form. Though there’s not conversion for the Tamiya kit at this time, one is in work, which will include an F-16A cockpit. The cockpit itself should be availible in mid 1st quarte 11, with the ADF conversion not too far behind. Mike V
