Phartycr0c
Right ho folks, here we go with this "commission" build of Trumpeters rather large CH 47D which I will attempt to make look like an RAF HC2. The sacrilage will be enhanced by the fact that it will be the first Hook over the Iraqi border during Telic 2003 that most famous of Chinooks, BN. The Aircraft will be built OOB with some rather nice PE from Eduard. In addition I will attempt a little scratch building here and there. She will be gunned up and may have a crew, havn't decided yet. I will say now that this will not be a pin sharp HC2 replica as my skills are not up to it, but I will attempt a loose visual representation. On with the show. Ths is one large steaming pile of plastic, just gagging for the knife and glue to come out. Thats a standard AA battery for a size comparison... Gulp. Got this to Jazz the base up a little. Jabba
If you need any help with the conversion there is some info on the IPMS Farnborough website. Here is a link. http://www.ipms-farnborough.co.uk/html/chi...provements.html Also the badge that you show is from the First Gulf war as we had a different badge in 2003, with the message of "Another round of Gulf". I have one of these and will photograph it for you sometime over this weekend.

Phartycr0c
A little progress on the cabin area and introducing Bert and Ernie the Crew. After much deliberation I decided to bring the bird "alive" with a couple of figures. The cockpit area and rear bulkhead are slowly taking shape. Floor has been base coated and belts need to go onto Bert and Ernie after I have positioned their arms on the controls. Slow but sure. Those blokes took longer than I thought. Main cabin and seating next. BTW Jabba, That badge is superb. Ill try and search one out.

Phartycr0c
Righty ho, a short update re this build. Progress has been a little on the slow side but heres where we are at the mo. Bert and Ernie are now fully armed! and installed into their respective seats. I do have to say that the trumpy figures are not the best but they'll do. The floor was painted washed and drybrushed as was the rear bulkhead. And now introducing Keith, the door gunner! I have two 134 miniguns to go in together with a cheeky M60 for the rear load ramp. Only problem is finding a suitable figure for the rear gun. Roll on Telford. The resin gun really is a work of art. Next up detailing the rear load compartment, the troop seating and building the door gunner Diorama. Edited October 16, 2010 by Phartycr0c
TonyT
looking good, cockpit and passageway soundproofing is black. as is the rest of the cockpit, for the NVGH's I believe Edited October 16, 2010 by TonyT

Phartycr0c
Thanks for the replies thus far folks. I am guilty of neglecting updates for this thread, however I have been doing some 1:1 room painting. Thats my excuse and im sticking to it. Here is some more progress. I have constructed, and fitted the Eduard troop seats which very kindly include individual belt buckles at the top and on the lap belts themselves. This was extremely time consuming to say the least, however once in progress recommenced at pace. here is where I am now. Check out those buckles Here's Dave on the back door gun. He was made up from bits and bobs from the spares box with a bit of hacking and sticking. Like Frankenstein, He Lives! Shades provided by Oakley (other shades are available!) Somebody's got his war face on! Anyhoo, I promise i wont leave it so long next time. Next up is all the lumps and bumps associated with the HC
