Mate, I believe the wokka wokka uses American M-60 Machine Guns instead of the FN Gimpy.I should have some spare in the spares box you can have. Jabba
M60s can be fitted to the right hand door, left hand escape hatch and on the ramp. The mini-gun can be fitted to both the front door on the right and the left hand escape hatch. The spent cases tubes are normally fitted when the mini guns are fitted, and a piece of tube (no better way to discribe it) is fitted to the lower rear corner of the left hand escape hatch opening when any gun type is fitted there to stop it being damaged. Phartycr0c
Thanks all for your responses. It certainly looks like my HC2 will be "gunned up" now. TBh I was struggling sourcing an armament. would a WIP be of interest?

Damocles
Try Legend Productions, they do an excellent M134 set, which has 2 sets including 'bendable' resin feed belt and ammo can. I have a set, and the moulding is excellent, picture below. ($12 USD from Lucky Model) When recreating the spent cartridge chute, try and get your hands on some very small extension springs, I got a box set of various minature springs (from RS Online, althought it was £35), and there are some just made for that job, and the tight coil represented the ribbed chute just right, and a little metal wire up the middle allows you to bend the spring into shape. If you are stuck for the springs,PM me, and I'm sure I can spare one or two. Chris.
spike7451
Why do they use the M60 instead of the gimpy ?.....just curiousRegards Simon It was answered on ARRSE... According to one chap there, the reason we use the M-60 is simply because the gun mounts came with the aircraft! Nothing more sinister than that! http://www.arrse.co.uk/aviation/19215-merlin-door-guns.html
TonyT
Oddly enough the US groundforces have been using the Gimpy too as they find it suits the ground conditions better than the M60, and the M60 is also a hybrid design using the German MG42's best bits !.. Phil
The RNZAF used the M60 up until recently for the exact same reason, they arrived with the airframes when we took delivery of our Hueys! We had a Longlook exchange crewman at Ohakea a couple of years ago who was from a RAF Chinook squadron and couldn't believe we were ditching the M60 in favour of the MAG58. It seems the M60 is quite popular, at least with this guy who had done a couple of tours in Afghanistan at that stage. Phartycr0c
Relevant guns now sourced , thanks very much for the responses. I like the idea of the spring for the cartridge chute, Will definitely be adopting that one. Now I just need to sort some IR detectors and chaff and flare dispensers!!!! Thanks again all. Jabba
Compression spring for spent cartridge chute.Chris. The spent cartridge discharge tubes are only used with the mini-gun fit, as the M60s have a collector bag fitted to the right hand side of the gun. Damocles
Regarding the IR and chaffe/fare dispensers, Cobra Company do detail kits for Blackhawks which come with such things, have a look and see if they are the same as what is fitted to the RAF HC2, if so let me know, and I can help you out on this one. Also, I think the DML Dragon 1/35 Vietnam Helicopter crew set comes with a 60 which has a spent cartridge bag, again if this is any use, let me know I 'think' i have a few sets somewhere in my garage. Devilfish
Iirc, ours don't have the "tube" over the end. At least the one I came face to face with while on "Orderly Corporal" duty at Waddo didn't have....
