Shar2
I've going to give this one a go for the Blitzbuild. It's the AFV Club Type XXI Submarine. Edited September 11, 2010 by Shar2

denstore
This will be interesting! I've been thinking about buying a lot of these WWII submarines that has appeared the last years. How does it look? Quality of the moulds, details, need of etch and so on?
ollieholmes
Interesting choice of kits. Good luck.
Shar2
So it starts. Dan, it's a nice little kit. But I've already found the green plastic is very soft. The detail is nicely done though.
Shar2
This may look like an easy kit, but the size of it does make it fiddley. Oh! and filling the ejector pin marks on the control surfaces is blooming awkward, especially as I can see myself sanding half the plastic away very quickly, probably leaving just the filler. Shar2
Oops! missed an hour. Ok here are the pics from the last 2hrs. Difficult building this as I'm staying at my in-laws. Although, I'm using FiL's modelling shed which is nice. Should be starting the paint in the next hour. Just have some, (ok, quite a bit), of filler to sand down. denstore
Looks great! I wish I had chosen a sub as well. I had forgotten about how many wheels there are on a tank to trim and sand....

I'm just glad I didn't choose an armoured vehicle Upper hull and deck now painted. Will leave it for a bit now to dry properly. Which means I can now spray the stand. Shar2
Right, that's it, finished. Bit quicker than I had expected, but I'm really pleased with the result. Feel like doing another kit now, but since I'm staying with the in-laws i think I should socialise a bit more.

rowmk9
lovely build there mate. I do love the Type XXI, a superb piece of engineering and I'm glad they never got into the war in a meaningful way. Very nice finish on the model too, nice and worn. Shar2
Thanks for the nice comments guys. Wasn't sure if I'd overdone the weathering. Don't worry Micha it's not a race, just some fun. I'm surprised the enamels I used dried so quickly and didn't expect to be finished quite so early.
