Carts
.After the last couple of bi-planes with all the rigging and engine work and research,I just felt like doing a model for the sake of it,In my stash I had a Revell re-issue of the old Aurora Prehistoric scenes Dimetrodon kit,I had initially bought it due to a nostalgia pang, having collected the originals when I was a kid,and the Dimetrodon was one of my favourites,However as I was aware at the time it was not the whole original kit, half the base was not re-issued,along with various flora and fauna, including the fantastic clear green plastic Dragonfly and plants. Having what appears,on the surface, to be the equivalent of a modellers mid-life crisis , I scored an original 1974 kit of E-Bay. The plan is to use all of the Revell re-issue,and cross kit with the original Aurora kit, therefore keeping as much as possible of the original intact TA-DA! Let the painting begin............eventually!

CPNGROATS
You can do your own interpretation of the "correct" color scheme....that's cool...your model looks good...!! Dino Cheers, ggc
Happy Martian
Has your dino had an early lunch or is Ripleys left hand missing ? I remember doing these kits back in the 70's and they were great fun. I've been thinking about picking up some of the Tamiya kits, as they're supposed to be 1/35th scale, and doing a Jurrasic Park 2 dio. And as for colours, there's still so much debate about what is right that you could almost get away with yellow and pink polka dots. Andy

Carts
Just about finished the Dimetrodon, will take some piccys in natural light tomorrow. Really enjoyed this "vintage" build, its a bit of a shock when I realised I first built it 36 years ago! On a lighter note,Ripleys hand turned up,i just had to wait for nature to take its course Edited September 21, 2010 by Carts
