Stanley Ipkiss
Hello! Plane story: At 7th of September 1939 that aircraft made a brave and risky attack using 6 small bombs (12.5kg) and machine gun fire to spoil the german defilade at captured city of Gdansk. The crew: pilot Józef Rudzki and observer Zdzisław Juszczakiewicz were sent to find batlleship Schleswig Holstein but they didn't find it at suspected area. They decied to patrol over city of Gdańsk where they found cheering enemies. The decision was one and only - attack! The air raid was a big suprise for self-confident germans who were sure that polish air force in that region doesn't exist anymore. Their propaganda hid the informations about casaluties. They also said, that that was the Luftwaffe mistake but polish sources have no doubt about that night air attack... About kit: It's quite old and not good but suprisingly it wasn't very hard to make I added some scratch build changes as well as Part's photoetched sheet and resin engine. It was my first water "terrain" so it's not as good as I wanted... Here is the link to "work in progress" thread --> http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.p...=52261&st=0 Okay here are some gallery photos. Hope you will like it! Paul A H
Lovely build! I visited Lublin about 10 years ago and saw the old airfield, presumably Lublin aircraft were built there?
Stanley Ipkiss
Thanks for your positive comments Yes, Lublin planes were produced at Plage & Laśkiewicz aircraft factory. Every Lublin was made there. The old airfield you have seen was just near the factory buildings which are now used by sugar refinery. By the way Lublin is my birthplace city Cheers Stanley
