My references say...

RLM 02 Grau

Interior colour, also used as overall colour on prototypes

34*H:29 + 13*H:25 + 12*H:34 + 2*H:82

or 4*H:168 + 1*H:75 + 1*H:92 + 1*H:10

or H:92

Based on the colour chart included with the latest edition of Michael Ullmann's book, 224 Dark Slate Grey is close but it's too dark when wet. If your aren't going to varnish over it, it's pretty good.

The alternative is 31 Slate Grey, which is a very good match for RAL 7033, which in turn is apparently the correct modern match for RLM 63. I'd probably claim "scale effect" and use 31 for both of these shades. You certainly wouldn't be far away.

Sorry to complicate things but as part of another exercise I measured all the actual paint chips and samples of RLM 02 I could get my hands on. They varied of course, but the closest RAL to all of them was consistently 7003 Moosgrau (Moss Grey). Further I also replicated the paint using modern equivalents of the original pigments and measured the result. Same. I haven't yet mixed/matched a Humbrol paint to this.

I have the detailed figures if anyone wants them but knowing the animosity towards colour precision, Munsell and the photospectrometer by some here, I won't include them in this post.

as John says 31 - given as the equivalent 02 grau in the new Bf110 painting guide..

Hadn't noticed that as I didn't look at the painting diagrams until last night!! Pity they give '32' - presumably RLM66 equivalent - for the cockpit and undercarraige interior.

I'm sure somebody (John?) posted a match for RLM 02 from the Humbrol range recently, but I can't find it!!

Help!!

look here for various matches (first dot point), it is a compilation of suggestions from 14+ sources as to what matches or mixes for RLM, RAF/FAA, US, Itaian and French colours for some common hobby paints:
