Dave Fleming
Slightly intruiged by the 602 Squadron Spitfire that Airfix illustrate on the box of the new Bf110 - they code it as LO-M and the serial is visible as X4382, which is a 602 aircraft - but I've only ever seen it listed as LO-G (and there is a photo). Be interested if anyone knows of a pic of her as LO-M.

rowmk9
I feel there is a bit of artisitic licence being exercised with the new airfix box art, and its likely only meant to be representative rather than historical fact. The new BoB gift set for example includes the He111H-20 with powered top turret and other bits. These never fought in the Battle of Britain as they weren't in service until 1944. In this case, the He111 on the box is representing the model you'll find inside the box, rather than the plane that actually fought. I'd take the box art for what it is, art. It is very nice art at that. Rowan

Quite possible it was battle damaged and returned to MU for repair - replacement aircraft coded LO-M so when it came back they re-coded it LO-G (perhaps to replace a lost aircraft...?) Without access to the Maintenace records for the aircraft this is guesswork of course....
Dave Fleming
Dave, You've got too much time on your hands!!! Purely the fact it was a 602 aircraft caught my eye (After I pulled my self out of the trenches on the wing) - special interest of mine, and I thought the number was familiar, so I checked in my 'Every Boys Book of Every Aircraft That Flew with 602'. I'd be pleased if Airfix have made another serial/code match!
