GreenDragon
I did this last week for a mate. Here's the box and the sub-assemblies. All assembled and placed on base. First coats of paint are Miniature Paints Stone Grey for the base and egg with Humbrol 85 Coal Black for the beastie and Mithril Silver for teeth, claws and dry brushing. Royal Puple wash, the flash really shows it bright but it's a lot less garish in real light. Close up showing dry brushed Silver on chest area. The Egg after some Earth Brown, Chocolate Brown, Bottle Green and Black Ink washes & wipes. Here's a flash pic of him finished, the purple really isn't as bright in natural light, Honest Guv! Cimmerian
Ah - the memories! I built most of the halcyon alien kits in the 90's Wish I could have another round at them now ... They seem to go for lofty prices these days ...
Pilgrim_UK
I like that paintscheme on that FA18 in the background.
GreenDragon
You're right there Cimmerian, they usually go for a lot on ebay. I haven't a clue where the moulds went, maybe Tsukuda in Japan?, but they don't seem to have been reissued since Halcyon closed. That's my Icelandic Air Force F/A-18F Pilgrim, glad you like it! Couple of clearer pics here. http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=47736 Paul Harrison
Cimmerian
I saw one of these kits at telford - but for some reason, I didnt buy it! wasnt too extortionate, like 30 quid or something. I dont know what came over me, I had just bought a compressor and I think buyers guilt got the better of me. I regret it a bit now. And sorry - forgot to mention, Nice build !
