Guys, I dunno if this is the right place to ask, but I am looking for some product by a company called Collectors Brass. They are American based, but I am hoping someone over here carries their stuff.

Specifically:

CB50-06: .50 cal M2HB late WWII, Korea & modern cradle assy., large ammo box. extra ammo box and slider mount for ring type mount.

CB50-06.jpg

and

CB50-09: 50 cal air cooled MG with WWII cradle, M24 pedestal, & large ammo box in tray

CB50-09.jpg

and

CB50-10 50 cal M2HB MG with late war cradle, M24 pedestal, & large ammo box in cradle

CB50-10.jpg

CB50-09 and CB50-10 are the ones I am really looking for.

I know that www.rjproducts.com in the US sell them but I can't get through to them and although I sent an email looking for more info, I have had no response. Is there anyone in the UK or Europe carrying these or something similar?

Can anyone advise, please?

Thanks in advance,

Liam

Glad to help.

Out of interest what are you using them for?.

Weeellll, not for a vehicle.

I'm taking part in the What-If GB elsewhere in the site. I'm building a OH-6 Loach helicopter and plan to do it up in Garda colors ( the idea initially being that in response to increase in gang feuds, joy-riding, ram-raiding etc, the Garda decide they need an airborne, fast versitle vehicle to take the fight ot the criminals. Budget restraints being what they are, they purchase one Loach and out-fit it with the assembly for the .50 and have at it). I plan to use the Italeri 1/35 kit for this but wasn't happy with the quality of the weapon included in the kit. So I started to look around and was referred to that site. I cannot believe how beautiful they look in the pics and am hoping they look as good in real life!

Almost good enough to make me want to make a Sherman, just as an excuse to buy a few. They'd also look terrific hanging off a Blackhawk.

Thanks again for the direction. They only have one of what I needed so I ordered that one . R and J got back to me this morning and I'll get the other gun from them. When I see the two in the flesh, as it were, I'll decide which to use.

Fast response fitted with .50 cals :D

Have you thought of approaching the Met with this idea. If so I claim 50% of any royalties.

I'll have a look in the GB thread to see how the build goes.

The idea came from a reality tv programme where the stapped twin cals on the flat bed of a truck and basically shot the entire mag into some sort of sprts car. There was nothing left of the car when they had done.

I always thought, like Sean Connery in the Untouchables..."they bring a knife, you bring a gun...." and so on.

Chris.

Forgive my ignorance, but what would they need the optics? Is this like a look-down sort of thing? What is the IR/EO turret? Infra red?

I am interested, but just want to understand what and how they could be used? Is there anything I could send you in return?

IR/EO (Infra Red / Electronic Optical), a must for any budding urban crime fighter. Would aid target acquisition, identification and tracking, and would bring the Loach up to date, but that just opens the door to a glass cockpit !. I wouldn't take a thing for it, it's been in the box for nearly 9 years. If you send me an address, I will try and get it away tomorrow, heading to Donegall on Sarurday for a weehis

When mounting the 50 cal , make sure you fit a chute for the ejected brass, I used tiny springs , with wire up the middle for shape. Think I have one or 2, I'll fire them in to.

Hi Chris

That sounds great. If you don't need them. I'd only be too delighted to accept them.

I plan to start the build tomorrow. I was waiting on some brass 50 cal in 1/35 to arrive and they have done,

They're gorgeous.

Only thing now, is that I cannot find any images of what the helicopter crew use. Maybe I'll just adapt one to look like a Garda Swat dude?

Anyways,

Thanks Again

I have a complete Eduard OH-6 PE set, the round cross-hair aiming thingy for M-60's from The Eduard UH-60L PE set and the Dragon US vietnam, Academy OH-58d Kiowa warrior crew or Trumpeter Modern UH-47 crew (latter sets would probably be best, but neither exactly right up to date for US mil kit, but for Garda probably not far off the mark. Again good home needed. Can post on the 30th.
