could also be a bird or weather condition going on previous planes

Birds

F-18 - Sparrow (doesnt quite sound menacing enough)

- Kestrel (hmm not too bad)

- Raven (excellent but already taken)

- Pidgeon (lol very british) damn have catch the pidgeon stuck in my head now

- Phoenix (mythical but cool)

Weather conditions/effects

F-18 - Thunder

- Sleet

- Avalanche

- Twister

Russ

F-18- Hurricaine II (Thinking along the lines of lightning II here)

- Cyclone (Great name and staying within the current naming theme , does sound a bit like a hoover....Hmmm)

- Whirlwind II (thinking along the lines of the Hurricaine here)

I'll get ma :coat:

Would they keep the Hornet name? In the past they've changed the names of American aircraft used in the RN/FAA, so it's not inconceivable they could do it again? Wonder what it would be? :hmmm:

They tried it for a bit and then gave up because of the confusion it caused. Nothing adopted by the Fleet Air Arm has had a different name since the Tarpon. And, as the FAA has already used a Hornet, it won't have any problems using a Hornet again (and we don't need "II" to help us tell 'em apart).

F-18 Shag

Well.. It's a sea bird. Innit?

You can just see what's going to happen .......gone to war ...one gets shot down and the enemy pilot is quoted as saying "not the best Shag I've had".

Better than the F-18 Anusol.

Because it's going to be used this side of the pond, will it be fitted with a different type of applicator??

What about the Boeing F-18 Bolo, after all the political wrangling that has/will gone on. :hmmm:

Or if it was the F-18 Shag, you could say that the targets it destroyed were "Shagged". :)

Only thing is Mike at the end of their sevice career they will be "shagged out". Then they will be dumped. :violin:

Sorry about that.

Non story..we have always had growbags & grunts on exchange with other nations forces. We are the only other air force outside the US who has had an exchange pilot to fly the F-177 & B-2's.
