stevehnz
I don't want to mention the brand as I have no personal experience but some internet research has lead me to believe a brand that has some schemes I want to use may be liable to split/shatter coming off the backing. I wondered about a thin coat of Klear appied with a brush before trying to put them in place. Yes/No, any other thoughst as how to address this problem? By the time it happens it too late in my book so I'd like to pre-empt it as it were. Steve
CliffB
Steve Microscale's 'Liquid Decal Film' is great for what you want (despite the name, it's a liquid that you brush on). Cliff
stevehnz
Not sure if the microscale stuff is available locally, will check it out, thats why I asked about the Klear to begin with as I hadn't seen anything like that near to me. Thanks for the advice though. Found some I can get mail order in NZ so all good, thanks. I looked at the microscale website & it certainly sounds like what I want. Steve. Giorgio N
The microscale product is way better, as it's designed for that. In the past I managed to salvage some old decals by brushing first a coat of clear varnish. Klear can be used as well. However you need a good number of coats and the decal remains very fragile. The microscale product sorts the problem with a single coat.

Thanks for this Giorgio, its good to know. I found out that the local guy could get it but hadn't before so I have some on order. It'll be nice to look at those dodgy decals with a bit more confidence. Steve.
