Amaurosisbrown
Finished the Hunter that was my return to modelling after 25-odd years. My late Uncle flew for the Abu Dhabi Defence Force, so this is a small tribute to him, and I shall gift it to my father. This web-site has provided invaluable information and motivation. Since I last modelled as a teenager, techniques and equipment have moved on, not to mention the range of after-market upgrades. I used spray-cans as not ready to commit to an air-brush. Things I learnt on this model: -how to use blu-tac to mask up the camo. -that floor polish has more than one use! Mistakes made: -remember to add the nose weight BEFORE gluing the nose-cone on. Techniques to be tried on my next model: -panel line and wheel-bay detailing -weathering -how to photograph the aircraft so it doesn't look like a toy I shall return to the Hunter. Perhaps once I have improved, I shall make the ADDF Hunter in 1/32 scale. The wheels-up Hunter was my test model. All painting, gluing and decal-work was tried on that model first. It will be flown by my 4 yr old nephew.

goon
Really nice. I've got a soft spot for that kit, as it was also my first after a 20 year break. Well done!
