Silver Fox
are some manufacturers missing out on a marketing opportunity? It is the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain this year and..... In 1/48th Scale Hasegawa have deleted their Hurricane ( all models as far as I can see not just the MkIa ) and the early Stuka from there lists. Revell decided to reissue the He 111 with V-1 not the H2/6 No more Classic Airframe so no Do17Z and Ps, or Blenhiems and no enterprising Czech company has filled the breach Special Hobby brought out the BR 20 but not the BR 20M which was used by the CAI. Perhaps they are waiting for the 75th Anniversary? Any road up, come see and join in the IPMS (UK) 70th Anniversary display at Telford.
pigsty
It has to be said, the 70th is not traditionally an anniversary that gets celebrated. It usually goes 40, 50, 60, 75, 100.
Steven Eisenman
Let's just hope the remaining companies are still around in five years. BTW, Special Hobby/ MPM does have the molds for the Br. 20M. Might be an issue of how the sales went of the Br. 20.

True, but it is probably the last we'll see of that generation. We had a couple of ex pilots hoping to make it to Telford, but ..... Anyhow it hasn't stopped Airfix has it. Would agree with you, however, you must remember that, when these men were taking part in the Battle, the majority of them were aged 20 and over. In 5 years time on the 75th Anniversary, there will be very few, if any of the Battle of Britain veterans, 'The Few' with us, how meaningful will that be. Currently, in the world we know of about 90 who are still alive. Last Friday I had the pleasure of being in the company of 5 of these wonderful men at a gathering at Biggin Hill, the eldest of them was 97. As one of them said recently, "We may have walking sticks, but they are only to fight off the girls". In 10 days time when we hold our gathering at the National Battle of Britain Memorial at Capel le Ferne in Kent, we hope to have 20 of 'The Few' present. That should be a wonderful occasion. Robin.
