Glenn R Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 Hi All, Here's my latest creation, the Revell 1/32 Ju88 with a few add-ons and a little converting. From what I've managed to piece together, the aircraft Ju88-A6 (converted back to A4 standard), note the lumps on the wings and nose where the balloon fender attached, W Nr3457, coded 4D+DL, was captured in July 1941. The German markings were painted out in, I think, dark earth. The undersides and propeller tips were then painted yellow and roundels/fin flashes applied, plus the serial EE205. At some time the British marking were changed to the later style with much reduced white and yellow. Later on, the British markings received a distemper coat of dark green(?) and the German markings reapplied, again, in distemper, for a film. These markings were crudely washed off to reveal the previous roundels and the code EA-9 was then applied in yellow on the fuselage sides. This model was a masking nightmare and kept me busy for a long time. What a pity the aircraft wasn't captured before the fenders were removed. Regards, Glenn.
KLP Publishing Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 Lovely work as usual Glenn. Another typically esoteric take on a popular subject too! Kev
NickParker Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 beautifully finished example of an unusual subject. Nick

sig226 Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 Absolutely fantastic !..... I find quality builds like this a bit of a dichotomy....It both inspires me to higher things and yet depresses me that I'll never achieve such high quality. Regards Simon

But didn't someone once say that it doesn't matter if you can't recreate great art. It's enough to know it's there in the world? Ian
Iain Ogilvie Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 Lovely Glenn! You still looking for an ID Canberra? Iain
