Italeri Merlin (RAF search and rescue)

Well here is Stu's Merlin he is cutting the parts off and sanding them with Dad helping with the glue and paint, apart from the glued rotor section it's holding together on it's own so the fit is quite good. As the title says it will be yellow and decals used from the Sea King kits which were kindly supplied by Dave (merlin 101).

Yellow huh? It is what should happen on the real thing, but don't think it every will. It will be nice to see it model form though.

Good luck!

Grant

As it is the RN variant then it definately will never be yellow, but i agree that it will look great as a model.

How old is Stu and is this his first model?

Looking good so far :thumbsup2:

Hi guys well here is an update, Stuart is 11 and he has built a couple of the Revell airliners. I gave him the paints and he has completed the interior section, he struggled a bit with the smaller parts and the instructions are a bit vague in places for him but he is getting there. We are going for the Tamiya fluorescent yellow MS-10 rattle can for the paint job as it is still available.

Caution sun glasses needed :analintruder: Stu is off on school hols this week so here is the progress so far, I did help with the masking and we are using Tamiya spray can PS-19 camel yellow for the overall colour. Stu loves this colour and it is yellow enough for him.
