I've been a member for a couple of years now and have never posted any of my builds until now. This is my latest build, the old Monogram P-61 built OOB except for the decals which are from Eagle Strike, painted with LifeColor paints.

Hi

Excellent build.

You seem to have got the transparencies to fit very well. They were one of the reasons I ended up chucking mine against the workshop wall...

Yes, really nice model. I'm thinking now to buy this model. What you can say about this kit? And do you have more pictures from building process?

:goodjob:

It's bringing back memories. I built this kit over thirty years ago. After seeing your excellent model, I think I want to build it again!

me too (well maybe 20 years ago - my last kit before suspending modellng)... mine was done all black. Think it is still at my parents house, was tempted to bring it home and rebuild it but dont have storage room... think I would like to try a 1/72 version.....

The interior is very finely detailed, as were all Monogram kits from that period. The panel lines are fine, raised lines - again standard for Monogram at the time. The big problem with the kit is that the transparancies are total pants! They just don't fit. They need an awful lot of work to get them looking good - work which llking has done to great effect.

However, if you are willing to splash the cash a little, there is always this.

That's a really nice build of one of the few aircraft that I have started and never finished, so I can appreciate the work that has gone into it.

Cheers

Excellent work on a classic model. I note the Tamiya P-51B boxing poking its head out from one of the photos - any progress on this?
