Russian Stelath fighter

It's a pretty aircraft... It looks like an F-22 had it away with a Mig-29 with an SR-71 in the heritage. It kind of makes the F-22 look a bit clunky :)

Absolutely beautiful! The F-22 looks like a bar of soap to me - and not a very attractive one at that. The PAK-FA looks like the Russians went with the F-23 (the best looking aircraft ever to fly in my opinion...) and ran with it.

I love this aircraft and can't wait to build one in miniature...

Oh and BTW - in the August MAW Ken Duffey will show you how to scratchbuild one of these in 1/72 - just thought I'd mention it!

A complex of measures to reduce visibility (visual, infrared, radar etc.) of an object.

I think he was being critical of his own typing, Pin. Really interesting video. I am sure some of those manouveres were for the benefit of the modelling community. "Ok folks this is how we painted it underneath....and......here is what it looks like on top!" Anyone else note the new style of national in insignia? With relations with Russia back on track (no thanks to Mr GW Bush), I wonder when we will see this at RIAT and Farnbrough?

I REALLY need to learn to tripe slower what on earth is stelath technology?

I thought it had been proved, you only need to get the first & last letters right for it to be understood, the ones in the middle are unimportant. I had no trouble knowing exactly what you meant. ;)

Amazing how the technology has come on. Fifty years ago, an aircraft with so little fin area would have killed its pilot through yaw coupling in a matter of seconds.

Also amazing that you can just sit and watch this at home. Can you imagine doing that with the prototype Flanker, or Flagon, or Fencer?

Quick ! cancel F35, we should buy this instead, can see it now in 899 sqd FAA or 56 sqd RAF markings.

Funny, I get these flashbacks to Firefox from the early 80's with Clint Eastwood - don't knonw why :P

Anybody notice that from below - during the roll-part about halfway - it looks like a F-14 Tomcat with sweept wings?

I couldn't see the F-14 resemblance but the first thing that came to mind on takeoff was that this was literally only one step away from the MIG-31 in Firefox.

The chines (?) on the lower forward fuselage sides really did hark back to "Firefox". I so thought too.

Steve.
