Tailwheel Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Hi All, Now call me, old fashioned, over the hill , stubbourn etc. but I really do like the above range of paints...personal choice you understand. However Hannants do not appear to be doing the Airshows this year so my chances of replenishing supplies have evaporated . Sure they will include 'liquids' with kits ,but as I have more unmade models in my attic than they have, and any more kit purchases on the grounds of "I need the paint "will land me in the divorce court , I was wondering if there were any retailers out there who offer a mail order service (Minimum order value , of course ) TIA Tailwheel
Graham Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 My local shop Wonderland should be able to help you. http://www.wonderlandmodels.com/models/pla...s/paints-glues/ Graham.
Mike Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 I think Relish Models and some others also supply without the need to buy a kit.
timbo33 Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 (edited) I've just bought a number of Xtracolour tins from Hannants and they e-mailed me today to say they've been posted - no kit........maybe they've changed their (somewhat unpopular) policy?? Edited May 14, 2010 by timbo33
Mark M Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 sbx are cheap for paint and are ok with postage, hannants, models for sale, these all do xtraclyic, where are you? i know a few locals shops as well
Tailwheel Posted May 15, 2010 Author Posted May 15, 2010 Thanks to All for your guidence ,much appreciated .I live in Kent and I'm afraid to say that almost all of the good old fashioned model shops have now passed into history. The reason for their demise is of course another issue .We have the chain model stores so paint from Humbrol/Tamiya/Revell/Veligeo (think thats how it's spelt ! ) is easilly obtained ,the dedicated Xtra's are a struggle . Going to Duxfords Airshow tomorrow so will see what turns up. Thanks again and Good Modelling Dave

spitfire Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 You get great (and fast) service from Wonderland Models, I always order my Xtracolor from them, if you like Xtracolor then have you tried WEM Colourcoats ? They spray as good as Xtracolor but do not give quite the same high gloss finish, it is more of a satin finish, but the range of paint is even more extensive than Xtracolor (for my WW2 time period that is). Plus WEM are also spot on for fast service. Cheers Den

Though I was sorely tempted!! Ian
Tailwheel Posted May 17, 2010 Author Posted May 17, 2010 Hi All Once again ,many thanks for your time and intrest. Kind regards Dave, PS Only Mr Models at Duxford yesterday.
Edgar Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 If you're going, or know someone who's going, to the Hendon model show, it's possible to pre-order Xtracolor from Hannant's Hendon shop, and collect them on Sunday, but you'll need to deal with the shop, not Lowestoft. Edgar
